Im sorry for this offtopic - but here's a lot of people with possible clues
My firewire port on a cam side gets burned quite often - and this is geting kind of expensive. Canon technicians have told me that i'm not supposed to hotplug firewire devices, since they might get fried during this process. But today camera died durning the capturing process on 39th minute - and nothing else was hapening on a computer.
do you experience similar problems?how do you protect your cams from getting fried?
