Robert/Nikolai, thanks for the suggestions, I think one of my problems with going down that route will be that this telco (British Telecom) just hold their hands up when you even say the word 'router' and say "Nothing to do with us mate, our end to end test shows total connectivity up to our cut-off point".
A couple of questions. Should 'show cdp neighbours' show my router at the other end of the leased line? This is some output from 'debug ppp negotiation', not sure if it makes much sense to anyone out there or is it just telling me that the LCP setup requests are timing out?
