interface FastEthernet0/13
port monitor FastEthernet0/22

See above. I just tried a little experiment and it seems to work on a Catalyst 2924XL.
With a PC plugged into FA0/13 and a Solaris server plugged into FA0/22 I was able to
see
all traffic to the Solaris box from a software sniffer on the PC and upload/download
files to third server at the same time. A "sh int"on the switch did not indicate any
errors.

Maybe this isn't what you meant (?) and maybe it depends on the switch software version
(I recognize Catalyst 5xxx and 6xxx series switches don't run the same software).
