Well Drew I gotta knock on wood first...... OK, We use BellSouth and MCI for our ATM and Frame clouds. One of each with each carrier. The MCI frame has been up for about a year without down time except for a few remote site that use Billy Bob's local LEC for the last mile. Those seem to go down every once and a while. I can say all the sites that are MCI->MCI end to end have never gone down.
As for the BellSouth line, the host has been up for almost 2 years but we have had two sites that drop about every other month. They just sort of bounce for about 30 minutes and then all is well for a little while. ATM with both have been up for a year preforming ATM/ATM and ATM/FRF.8 and once up, key thing ONCE it can up after fighting both carriers saying this FRF.8 stuff is new to us so be patient, the lines and cut overs have been flawless. I guess I am content....until the VOIP rolls out and we all sound like martians. So, I am looking for a possitive story in the Frame Relay world. Who can with a smile tell me about a frame relay connection that has been up for a year or more - or would that be totally sci-fi??? I am getting SOOOOOOOOO frustrated and irritated that I have to deal with so much trouble with "simple" WAN connections.
