Well, certain technologies that are being removed, like say IPX NLSP, didn't exactly take the world by storm either. So you could say that you're simply replacing one obscure and rare technology with another, so it's a wash. But at least MPLS has a chance to become big later, whereas something NLSP I think we can all safely agree never will be.
