Hmm… The maven central guys seem to have a different opinion. There you get the 
group-id only if you *own* the domain.

As for your earlier question: renaming a project on fork allows easy 
identitfication of the "official" project. Compare:

vimclojure
frobnicator
hotzenplotz

to

de.kotka.vimclojure
meyers.mike.vimclojure
kasperle.vimclojure

So which is the original vimclojure project?
