Anjana: Thank you again for explaining things so well. I appreciate all in our group who do. I have my next appointment for blood work and check up Oct. 9th, so will ask these questions of the doctor about the PCRU & where I'm at after 2 and almost 3/4 years of Gleevec.
As for my Mom, she went in Friday and her platelets had come back up to ten, so the ImmuneGammaglobulin had finally kicked in, plus the bumped up Prednisone of 60mgs. a day helped as well, I'm sure. She goes back Monday to be checked again. My mom told me that she went back to see her primary dr. and he's in agreement with everything the Hem/onc is doing and she said that she even went over to the Hospice Center where she sometimes volunteers and talked to the Doctor there about this dr. she's seeing and he told her that the doctor was one of the best. So that made her feel better. I will ask her about the drug you mentioned. She also told me that she put me & my brothers on the list to talk with the doctor, so if things continue to go like they are, trust me, I will call and talk to him for my own peace of mind.
