        We're using Cocoon2 and Tomcat 3.2.3.

        It's probably better to use Tomcat 3.2.3, there are various fixes and
        updates there which will generally improve things.

        Delete the jaxp.jar and parser.jar from the jakarta-tomcat/lib
        directory as you've done, but copy the xerces-1.4.1.jar from the
        xml-cocoon2/lib directory into the jakarta-tomcat/lib directory.

        I've also added a context to my server.xml file explicitly specifying
        the cocoon webapp. You should see it being initialized at startup time
        in the servlet.log.

        Then everything should start up ok. If it doesn't please send us in
        the relevant parts of the cocoon.log and servlet.log.
