Thanks @DanielLeens — that's a really useful breakdown on the cacheMode default, and agreed on leaving it as a non-blocking follow-up rather than fixing it in both PRs. @davidzollo @zhangshenghang — this looks ready from the review side: Daniel's conclusion is "ready to merge", the unit-test legs are green on the current head, and the only red jobs are connector ITs unrelated to the two files this touches.
