I might have to suck it up and try to mail order one. The local Batteries Plus shop said that the Energizer 523 is no longer made but that they could make a suitable replacement for me. I'm beginning to think this replacement wasn't so "suitable." Acutally I just discovered a problem: the bozo at the Batteries Plus shop seems to have mislabeled my battery, marking the NEGATIVE terminal with a big red "+" -- thanks man. So I installed it correctly this time, and the unit appears to now _really_ be holding the date/time. I'll be monitoring that over the next few hours. As in, I'll set it now and check it in an hour or so. :) Maybe I need to reinstall the OS and everything else from scratch again, because even after zapping the PRAM again, it still won't let me switch to EtherTalk. Well, it tries to let me, but it still locks up. :( Eagle -- Compact Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
