When there are GUI tools to do everything the Classic Mac OS can do, I'll be
happy.

As long as I have to keep digging into the command line to fix stuff like
permissions by logging in as root or using "sudo," I'm not happy.

Not for everyday work, at least not for most *normal* everyday work.  At least
the Classic Mac OS is still usable for everyday work, as was ProDOS when the
Mac was introduced.

Give OS X ten years and then see if you aren't saying the exact same thing
about the Classic Mac OS.
