I've Had no experience with dishwashing Macs.

The strongest I've used is Clorox Outdoor Bleach. A thick gel-like bleach
for cleaning the outside of you home, patio furniture, etc.

The best I've used is clorox CleanUp. A bleach and surfactant/detergent gel
that is far more gentle to cases, yet removes yellowing. For spot cleaning,
I use Resolve Carpet Cleaner Spray. Scrubbed with a non-stick pan's cleaning
sponge, and rested in the sun for a while, most Macs I clean come back well.

The active ingredient in bleach is Sodium Hypochlorite, Chlorine salts. I've
never tried Hydrogen Bleach, powdered from OxyClean. This is next.

The engraving removal will leave damage no matter what you do. I use a 300
grit sandpaper on a block of wood and sand in circles to lessen engraving.
I follow it up with Goof Off, a paint spill. marker pen, etc., removing
solvent that melts plastic. I put it on a fluffy hand towel and rub in
circles until the scratch marks are less noticeable.
