Using a multimeter, you could try some simple resitance comparisons between your faulty board and your other working board, if you are feeling braver you could try to measure voltages while the unit is on and compare with the working unit, or why not carry on the tack of swapping components, fixing things is always a lot easier when you have a working model to compare with! good luck!
