Ah, well then I stand by my follow the traces with a magnifying glass from
the sound pins on the logic board and look for corrosion, traces that have
been eaten through, goo shorting resistors, capacitors, etc. Let's not
discount that the logic board pre-amp IC hasn't crapped out, either -- but
pay special attention to any shorting between those pins! You may have to
remove it in order to clean under it. What was the other problem besides
sound?
