That particular board the serial ports lost the ability to transmit (they
could receive!) and startup issues when warm, ie if you powered it off
waited a little while and then powered it back on you would still see some
of the previous session left on screen, and this would last a considerable
time, so the board was pretty ill hence the replacement.  I also have
another classic board where everything works apart from the clock wont
advance, replacing the xtal from a known good board didn't cure it, and it
would remember the date/time just wouldn't advance, this board is likely my
next project to resurrect.
