Ken,

While I don't doubt that Blastwave has many packages available, and I
have been using many. I also know that while there are thousands of
packages available, there aren't any packages for accounting in
Solaris. There are some Non-Gui web authoring for Solaris and one PCB,
with a very old cryptic user interface that won't allow any pcb shapes
other then square or rectangle. Maybe I'm just a small minority in my
package requests, but I thought some sort of accounting software would
be essential for most people.

Basically I was asking that whatever new Software is requested, it
should be reviewed and given a certain priority. Blastwave doesn't
offer this.

I though this forum was created for peoples opinion on how the open CCD
should be formed or governed. All I saw so far was a battle between Sun
and Blastwave. If the requirements agreed to in this forum are set,
Blastwave or any other group can follow them. If Blastwave agrees to
them, they may be the next CCD.

Compiling for Solaris 8 isn't going to get my Nvidia graphics
accelerated. Sunfreeware has the right idea, they maintain at least 3
versions of Solaris, but all packages are not available for all
versions. The CCD seams to be even better, its packages have been
compiled for the latest version, but all outdated. My thought though
would be to compile to the latest version and keep current with packages.

Basically this is all my opinion, but I think we all should contribute
to what would make a great open CCD.

Paul
