Of course, gnome-network has been abandoned during the GNOME 1.0 days! Only until very recently that the code has been resurrected from death, but still not usable yet.
Wow... doesn't anyone from the Gnome project use ppp?

My impression from hanging/helping out at a web support forum for Linux for a few years is that Gnome users use Kppp.
