I agree with this. Keep it in the freezer. I like to pop in the toaster oven
frozen and toast and then put in the microwave for 10-15 seconds (may take
longer in some microwaves) to warm the middle. I hate soggy bread as well.

I keep my bread in the freezer.  When I need a few buns or slices of bread, 
I take them out and microwave them for roughly 20 seconds.  Note that my 
microwave is pretty fast.  For example, I can pop a bag of microwave in 1 
minute and 20 seconds.  Some can take longer than 3 minutes to do the job. 
Anyway, the buns are as fresh as when you bought them if you do what I do.
