Well today I broke down and bought a bunch of solid rivet stuff
including a
used pneumatic squeezer. Gonna go for it on the wing tanks, probably
regret
it but hey, it's a learning experience!

I started drilling out the rivets with a 1/8" drill and this seems
just a
touch small. Plus it's hard to stay centered on that big flat flush
rivet
(no dimple) even though I punched a hole in the center. In any event
what
I'm left with is a hole down the center of the rivet and the head
still on.
On the few where the head popped off the top (countersunk flat part)
is
still firmly attached. Any tips??? Use a little larger bit and then
go
with a larger rivet later or is there another trick to getting these
buggers
out?

I had my father in law help with the punching and he counted like 248
rivets
in each wing tank. Wheew, this will be a while!

As always, thanks for the advice and let's keep em flying, ok?!

Joa
