----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- A few years ago, I had my spinner removed for several months (the mounting bulkhead behind the prop was still in place) and I saw no difference in anything but the looks of the coupe had changed.

The spinner bulkhead had been discovered cracked in the annual so I had it as well as the spinner bulkhead removed. About 10 minutes into the flight RPM went to 1900 with the engine running very rough. We powered back as we approached a local airport and the engine smoothed out. We landed and inspected with no visible problem. We took off, climbed to 3000AGL over the airport and finished the hop. The onboard instructor was also an A&P and said we might have stuck a valve on a hot cylinder due to the missing spinner not directing air properly into the cowl. Anyone else had this experience with a spinner off?
