My C75 has a Stromberg carb and pulling the mixture control all the way lean will not stop the engine when at idle. This is normal as we have all learned through this list or otherwise. My question is this: Many planes have the mixture control wired rich. Why is this done? I have considered wiring mine rich because the mixture control tends to vibrate out a little - not dangerously so - just a bit. But if I do that, what do I do when I want to run a little lean at run-up to burn off a little carbon from the plugs? Wayne N3544H Shelton, WA.
