Hi Paul,
What about static RPM? According to Skyport, static RPM at max
throttle for the
C-75 is 1950-2100. For the C-85 it's 2025-2225. I assume that "static"
means full
throttle, on the ground, not moving. But, I can tell you that my Coupe
with the
C-85, and the 7148 prop, will pull 2575 RPM, or close, at full throttle
and level
flight. As mentioned, I do fly out of 4500 MSL, so I'm at around 6500 ft.
when I've
tested it. As I understand it, Altitude should not effect RPM. Less
power but
thinner air equals the same RPM as more power but thicker air (lower
altitude). If
you're not pulling close to these published figures, I'd check your prop
for pitch.
I was concerned about my Coupe actually being a C-85. It has the 7148
prop, and I
was told it was 85 HP, but as I couldn't find evidence of the conversion
in the
logs, I was concerned. I recently had the Carb. overhauled, and sure
enough, it was
the correct carb for the C-85. And, it does pull the correct RPM.Larry "Paul M. Anton" wrote: > I have a C-85 with a 7148.
