Georgia, Living in South Dakota the summers get rather warm. So flying with the Canopy open makes it a desirable flight. I have an M10 and an Alon and have flown both with the Canopy open and have never felt that there was undo stress on the Canopy or attachments. It is one of the things that I have on my preflight check the Canopy. I have a couple of wood dowl rods cut to 6" and place them between the canopy and front stop and it keeps the Canopy open about 6" this makes it real nice air flow and cuts down on noise a little.
I also have a 415 and with the sliding windows open there does not seem to be as much wind noise in it. Jim Palmer Pierre SD
