Just got my ticket in April; my instructor was pretty clear on a couple of

points like this.  He told me to NEVER carry any logs in the plane; you're

not legally required to carry them, and if you don't carry them, it's not 
"reasonable" for the FAA to request them on a ramp check.  It's not that 
there's anything in my logs that I'm ashamed of, but I don't figure I need

to help those SOBs any little bit, and just assume they're out to get us.

As far as I remember, for me I need my license and medical, and the ARROW 
docs for the plane.  Like Audean said, he told me to show them, but never 
hand them over.

He also once pointed to clouds over us and said, "How far below those are 
we?"  I said that I didn't know.  He said, "If I'm the FAA, we're 500 feet

below, at least.  Come hell or high water.  Got it?"

I kinda take the same approach with paperwork.
