Karl,
I did have a problem with my cable and it turned out that it was
installed incorrectly on the lever end. It's supposed to swivel as it's
moved
in it's arc, and mine wasn't. It broke from what looked like years of
bending.
I have the lever mounted on the pilots side (inboard of the venturi).
