I once worked on an Alon that apparently had been flying for several years
with a portion of the static air tubing restricting elevator movement.
"Free and Correct" is a litany that is easy to be a little complacent on:
Free means free in FULL travel, and of course correct in direction of
travel.  Interesting that someone mislocated your battery box- I wonder if
yours is unique in that respect.  Thanks for the post- it's now the first
entry in my "owner squawk" file... This will evolve into a searchable file
that I hope can be used thusly: "I'm looking in here, (say, under the
panel).  Now, let's take a look at everything that's ever gone wrong in
that
general location (keyword search)".  I also intend to index the squawk
