-Caveat Lector-
NO matter what modem speed you have, if your local phone lines do
not support the higher speeds (older neighborhoods) you will NOT
get the higher speeds. After complaining and complaining, a friend
finally got one local phone guy to tell the truth. And they will only
upgrade when THEY decide to do it for their own reasons.
