I just came across Pisa.

http://pypi.python.org/pypi/pisa/

Haven't tried it, but Floss manuals uses it ( http://en.flossmanuals.net/ ),
and so does the OLPC project.
It's a pure Python solution (maybe some dependencies), that translates html
2 pdf.
