A reflection on today's Scripture:

THANKSGIVING DAY: a national holiday (USA) celebrated as a day of
feasting and giving thanks for Divine goodness. (Random House
Webster's College Dictionary).

Our forefathers came to the new world looking for religious freedom.
They traveled thousands of miles, suffered hardships and deaths of
loved ones so that they might be able to worship Almighty God without
oppression. Here we live today in the land of freedom and plenty and
wonder if we were suddenly deprived of our freedom to go to Church
and publicly worship, would we be willing to undergo the arduous
journey of our Pilgrim fathers. Each one must answer for oneself.

As we sit around our table of abundance, we should have hearts
bursting with gratitude as we realize that we cannot even draw a
breath without the Lord's hand upon us. Everything we possess is a
generous gift from our gracious God. We remember first the Lamb who
was slain for our sins, the perfect sacrifice of atonement! The Lamb
who has made for us a kingdom of Priests to serve our God; for this
we give You thanks O holy, holy, holy Lord, mighty God! Let us pray
that our voices resound with praise of your holy name, all the days
of our life!!

Thank you for your gifts,
thank you for our faith,
thank you for our share of divine life!
Amen!
