Thanks for pointing this out. This works for me. Somehow I keep forgetting that I'm not restricted to the tags as presented in the tree, but can use arbitrary SQL patterns, including wildcards. -- Thorsten Ohl, Wuerzburg Univ., Physics -- http://physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/ohl [email protected] wrote: ----- To: "Darktable Users List" <[email protected]> From: "August Schwerdfeger" Sent by: [email protected] Date: 2018-04-25 02:49PM Subject: Re: [darktable-user] Subtags in collections changed in 2.4.3 That change did not create any new behavior, but instead restored the behavior from before version 2.4.0. See https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/pull/1662 for the rationale behind it. Why would using, e.g., 'Animals|Vertebrata|Gnathostomata|Tetrapoda|Diapsida|Lepidosauria|Squamata|Gekkonidae%' not work for you in this case? -- August Schwerdfeger [email protected] On Wed, Apr 25, 2018 at 2:03 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: I'm a bit disappointed by the changed treatment of subtags in collections which is labelled a "Bugfix" in 2.4.3: When collecting by tags, don’t select subtags (the corresponding commit is 7428d2e0484d8727eca8a9a8e7cdbf53eb6b44e2). To me, the previous behaviour was a feature and not a bug. Assume that you're very geeky about tagging your pictures of animals and have pictures of two geckos in your collection Animals|Vertebrata|Gnathostomata|Tetrapoda|Diapsida|Lepidosauria|Squamata|Gekkonidae|Hemidactylus|Hemidactylus frenatus Animals|Vertebrata|Gnathostomata|Tetrapoda|Diapsida|Lepidosauria|Squamata|Gekkonidae|Phelsuma|Phelsuma borbonica Previously, you could collect Animals|Vertebrata|Gnathostomata|Tetrapoda|Diapsida|Lepidosauria|Squamata|Gekkonidae and find the pictures of all geckos. Since 2.4.3 one has to logically OR all subtags. In the example of the two gecko species, this is not a big deal, but if you want all pictures of birds from a specific year, it gets very tedious. Am I missing something or is there a chance to revert this change? -- Thorsten Ohl, Wuerzburg Univ., Physics -- http://physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/ohl ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected] ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected] = ____________________________________________________________________________ darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to [email protected]
