Point is the "should" ;)
As I said I can't really nail it so I can't report a bug on the issue.
But several other modules show a similar behaviour from time to time
which looks like "focus loss".
One of my other favourites is the colour picker which tends to tell me
"no I do not want to pick a colour let alone an area" (just switches
back to "move image" e.g.) Several clicks and probably changing of the
module on the way allows me to get it more cooperative for some time.
This one seems to be quite special if one tries to work with curves, but
I can't even nail that to the point "if I do exactly this, then I
see..." It's still on my observation list.
