It's possible that there may be a miscommunication / confusion here. At least according to my understanding, the idiom "to knock [person] off" is commonly understood as a euphemism for "to murder [person]". Thus, when you wrote "I can only hope that someone will knock you off with a shovel in the face", that may have been read as "I can only hope that someone one day murders you by smashing your face in with a shovel".
