Attaching derby-6980-09-aa-removeGibberishAboutGetPropertyInfo.diff and the
corresponding tarball of generated output:
derby-6980-09-aa-removeGibberishAboutGetPropertyInfo.tar. This patch removes
some gibberish about Derby's implementation of java.sql.getPropertyInfo().
I wrote a program to test the claims made about how getPropertyInfo() can be
used to get a list of booted databases. I could not get such a list by
following the instructions in the Developer's Guide and the Reference Manual.
There does not appear to be a regression test to verify these instructions. It
may be that the instructions once worked. But I can't make sense of them now.
We can re-write this material and reinstate it if someone can figure out how to
coax this information out of getPropertyInfo(). But for the moment, I think
that it is best to scrub this frustrating gibberish from the docs.
