I have to agree with this.  Most people's reaction when PgUp/down does 
not work is not going to be "OK, let's try all possible key combination 
until one works".  Instead it's going to be: "why do the Gnome-terminal 
settings suck".

I may be misremembering, but ISTR the previous discussion thread about 
this not working out of the box in Gnome being because Gnome did not 
want to reserve Page Up/down for itself, since sometimes applications 
running in the terminal might want to use those keys (editors, for example).

If true, the best solution might not be to just add a config option 
without turning this on by default, but instead make sure that PgUp/Down 
works in the terminal in cooked mode *always* but gets passed to the app 
when in raw mode (or running curses).  Or, "replicate the CDE behavior 
by default".

Yes, shift+PgUp can be pressed with one hand.  But only if you twist 
your hand uncomfortably.  Pressing a single key is easier, and more 
importantly, it matches expectations.
