This sounds like a great project. Will it have any impact on any of the other media programs we ship in Solaris (e.g. totem, rhythmbox)? Will Songbird be a replacement for these programs, or a new program that further augments the multimedia tools we offer? Some issues with the dependencies: - libgpod - Is this an optional dependency or a hard dependency. Since this contains reverse engineered code from Apple, it might be some work to OSR. - sqlite - This is not a supported database by Sun, so it might be hard to get this in. Not sure if it would be hard to make Songbird work with an existing supported database instead. I know Irene Huang here at Sun is working to get some support for this into Solaris for some other desktop programs, so you might want to work with her on this. I've cc:ed her so you can see her email address. Brian
