Hi Vladimir,
It might be because I already had everything needed installed to
compile Pidgin-2.5.5, but when I said I didn't do anything special to
compile it, I wasn't dishonest about it. I posted the configuration
options I used which were basically the same as the ones used to compile
Pidgin-2.5.1 which comes w/ OpenSolaris. I'd be happy to provide you w/
the archive w/ the binaries that I compiled w/ the source. You can see
I didn't change anything. I can also post the other plugins I compiled
w/ source for Pidgin as well. I was successful in compiling several
other plugins for Pidgin while updating it. Mbpurple, a twitter addon,
pidgin-privacy-please, bot-sentry, and pidgin-sipe. I only compiled the
latest release because like you, I needed a working ICQ to chat w/ some
friends in Europe. :-) I did make my first package for Solaris last
week after all these years, so if you need a package, I'd be happy to
make one for you. Either way, I'd be willing to help you get it
working. I spend a good portion of my day using email/instant messaging
so I know how important it can be. Drop me an email here @ my gmail
address or Steven.Blackford at Sun.Com. Take care.
