Okay, I've just connected an external USB CD/DVD Drive and I can RIP the 
tracks perfectly.

So, it's related to the CD/DVD Drive in the Ultra 24 Workstation or/and 
the way OpenSolaris interfaces with the drive.

Any suggestions?
