On solaris, printing to A4 sucks for quite some time now. It used to work very well, but it changed one day and I don't have a clue when exactly this happened. I -DO- know that older A4 manuscripts that used to print very well, no longer do. The -FIRST- page comes out fine, the second and later pages all are set way to high on the A4 printpage. This happens in StarOffice (v8) docs. So, what I have to do is save every multipage StarOfffice document as PDF and print that one. This does work. On nevada-b.107/sxce I can print with evince OK. On solaris-10 I have to use kpdf (from kde) to get a good printout from the pdf file. All in all printing is not good on solaris. This is with the default printing suystem, so no cups involved. Maybe I must change to cups? I also have to say that all printing actually is done on the S10 server, which has a HP-Laserjet connected. I have no idea how good CUPS for soalris-10 is.
