How are you talking to the LaserJet?  I am still using the old "HPNPL"
software for JetDirect cards under Solaris 10.  Sun has broken this 
software so many times it is no longer funny.

The last time was in a patch for the lp subsystem with no warning
whatsoever.  I had to manually fix all the HP model scripts because
Sun silently changed the "-o" option handling.  Maybe you are passing
some "-o" option which no longer has any effect?

After a brief spell using CUPS and losing almost all means of passing
paper handling options to the printer, I went back to the HPNPL tool.

The package by HP is not well-formed and on a barely Solaris 8 level.
HP of course does not care since they have received the money for
their printer, and "nobody uses Solaris for printing anyway."  :-(
