Slight difference is that rooted-Android users were always in this
situation, while things will degrade for Firefox Nightly users.
They'll degrade for Firefox nightly users one way or the other.
The ones who want to continue using legacy add-ons will need to
opt into continuing to use them as an unsupported feature. The
ones that don't opt in will simply lose those add-ons.
