1) The bugfix http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=13600 is not in the release. Don't know if it was meant to be, it's not a major issue for us, don't know about others.
Done I think...
2) http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=16738 is a patch for the docs and could be applied.
I can't read the patch if downloaded from either IE or Mozillia :-(
3) excalibur-configuration-1.0.jar is new in the release, but the changes file doesn't say why - but I guess there must be some change to Phoenix, which needs this jar?
Peter Royal : why was this put in? It does not appear to be used by Phoenix : http://cvs.apache.org/viewcvs.cgi/avalon-phoenix/lib/?only_with_tag=RELEASE_402-branch It has been in for at least 7 months.
4) The changes file is generally not up to date, there is an entry, which just consists of a "?" and other entries state "backwards compatibility lost", but don't explain in what way. IMHO, even if the docs are in disarray, at least the changes file should be up to date for a release.
? means 'can't remember' and 'not yet' I'm sure. I''l put some effort in.
