I tested the gradle build but found a reproducible issue:

1. clone the master
2. change a line of code to a wrong indent
3. run ./gradlew style

I have been observing that at this moment, gradle will report a style check
failure but then is stuck and cannot exit without a ctrl-c (tried wait >20m
and not seeing command finishes by itself.)
