i have been subscribed for quite a while, so maybe the number of mail 
headers locally is messing things up. I unsubscribed and resubscribed, 
that seemed to have restored things to "normal" again.

Works fine with Thunderbird 0.7 on Win2k. You appear to post through
GMANE, maybe they have an issue?
