- How can we shamelessly exploit ;-) those talents
  for the documentation "mother" project?

One of the key-factors is communication. You need to know early that
somebody is working on a new documentation reagarding topic XY, so you
can keep up with the translation. Especially if it is a larger one.

Knowing about it when it is finished sometimes is too late because one
has started a similar doc in the meantime or because the doc is just too
big to be dealt with in a small amount of time.

Yep. See my reply to your next posting. We could have a dashboard
in the wiki that the docs owners contribute to.

- How can we make sure that both docs and native
lang projects benefit from each other's docs
efforts? I know that we already link to the native
language docs pages but is there a closer connection
  in place?

We are lacking a document management system. There is no way to search
for keywords in documentation, there is not even a common place to look
for documentation. Every project handles it differently.

Yes. A *very* good point.

The documentation.oo.o project would be the logical portal to
the user docs world. Gerry did a great job in keeping that together
and pointing to native lang docs.

I am not sure if consolidating all docs on docs.oo.o would be
too big of a job for a mortal. Maybe if we get a wiki dashboard going
this could be the info source for such a thing.
