You said OOo is giving benefit to Avery. - By choosing a summary of: "Why are we supporting Avery wrt labels?" and by writing "this is wrong". > I feel that their products should take precedence over other > manufacturers who are not contributing or sponsoring. Define precedence. Kicking out Avery because they didn't pay $XXX or because they didn't sponsor a price? > SO the idea is > taht if these latter entities wish to continue to receive the current > status they should contribute in someway, as in financial or other way, > or be supplanted by those entities/companies that do support OOo > directly. If you want a vote: -1 Having label-formatss from the "Supporters" is fine, but if that means to "punish"/hide those who did not "contribute" directly, then you get a big "no" from me. Again: OOo is for the users. Manufacturers of labels with a significant coverage in a given country/region are free to send in their label fromats (as e.g. Herma did). The file is officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/Labels.xcu - with the schema definition in officecfg/registry/schema/org/openoffice/Office/Labels.xcs > That Avery starts with "a" is immaterial to the discussion. ,----[ http://www.mail-archive.com/dev@documentation.openoffice.org/msg01561.html ] | I have been thinking about this over the holiday season and have come to | the conclusion that this is wrong. I mean Avery does not support our | project so why should we offer their label formats as the default. `---- You claimed OOo is "offering Avery formats as the default". This has to do with Avery starting with "A" and thus being first in an alphabetically sorted list. ciao Christian -- NP: As I Lay Dying - Meaning In Tragedy --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
