Can you please summarize the concerns (they are spread about in comments)? I
agree we need to address them or have a path to address them in the design in
future.
Email notification is not just for reactionary work where the administrator
takes some corrective action, but also serves other purposes (did I get
notified that this job suceeded or not).
Now the levels of notifications, whether send failure notifications after all
retries are exhausted can be configured and we can discuss on the specifics.
