It matches the repo name to the project, i.e. 

logging-site -> logging project logging.staged.a.o
logging-log4j-site -> also logging project, logging.staged.a.o

With the profiles, you can manage subdomains

profile: ~ -> logging.s.a.o directly
profile: main - > logging-main.logging.s.a.o
