Let me try to recap my concerns here (2 main ones):
1) changing implementation to interface
- a different back compat policy for the module (i.e. the java interfaces
only) could partially address this.
- marking as lucene.internal could mostly address, but that's prob not what
direct module users would prefer.
2) downgrading of solr support for this core piece of solr
- making it a solr module (retaining the solr package naming, etc) should
mostly handle this issue.
