What you may not know (and some here can confirm my point) is that Daniel loves to send off-list email telling people about how bad using OOo is, and how the "establishment of OOo" (understand some project leads) is screwing up its job.

I have received no such off-list email from Daniel, but I saw with my own eyes numerous of his initiatives blocked by the "establishment of OOo", I even saw once the reason: he is too new here, only for about two years (I took that personally because I am also about as "new" as him). In fact the OOo community has turned pretty much in a bureaucracy, where the main concern of some project leaders (in supposed community subprojects) is to keep their chair, no matter if their project is almost dead and they have to turn down every new possible contributor wanting to revive it. You can see I was very quiet lately inside OOo, this is because all those politics and bureaucracy made me run away in disgust and search for some other friendlier places (of course, outside the OOo realm).
