Most of the surveys are meaningless in any case. E.g. https://pypl.github.io/IDE.html states:

"The Top IDE Index is created by analyzing how often IDEs' download page are searched on Google"

Wow... so one can say: "In the crowd of people, who are too lazy or not able to just go directly to the download site, Netbeans ranking is on position 6". So I, for example, was never ever in this statistic. I'm using Netbeans since many years now, and every version I've downloaded was in going directly to netbeans.org (or now netbeans.apache.org) and just downloaded it. And my colleagues are just using my downloads from our local server, so they are also not part of the statistic. So what's the point of such surveys? Honestly I don't know, for me it's at most a curious fact in the domain of: useless facts ;-)

Well although this is not of any practical value, I don't think it's a
waste of time since it's time to put an end on these surveys which can have
a damaging effect on NetBeans growth.
The latest survey from Rebel states 3% for NetBeans. These surveys support
the 'NetBeans is dying' or 'Nobody is using NetBeans anymore' claims and
that can turn away potential new users.
And once we make them do the surveys proper way, we'll become 'The
fastest-growing IDE' instead of the 'The dying IDE'.
Looking at https://pypl.github.io/IDE.html NetBeans is ranked a bit higher
then IntelliJ worldwide, but three times lower in the UK where the majority
of the survey responders came from.

And by the way, backup is being reported as a country in these download
statistics that Emilian sent.

Cheers

By the way this info will help to show that surveys showing only 10% of
NetBeans for Java IDEs are false.

As far as I can see https://blocky.apache.org/exports does not

I see COMDEV-310 is still open. Does NetBeans have a Snoot
